Reviewer: Justin M. Slaven,
hi i don't know what with the other reviews but i though was very well fix up and clean up and
the 1080p was real good now my not old like these guys but I was born 1987 have seen it when was on rerun 1992 and again 1996
and was every dark hard too see there where rips in it lines smoke burns from smoking stuff bad for you
it was bad and the sound was worst now that in bluray not only will have forever a lot long then dvd
witch why they are $30 if there less is either because it been out for while or is an older movie
this movie i would buy it in bluray because is clean up ever well and sound wounder full no lines no dark sports
no low lighting in scene when sun no smoke burns their noting wrong with it don't take in the old people review who have no ideal what look like any more not only that but their mad because never sound this good when it first came out they had low tec stuff back then now make some so good that old look and sound better then when first came out
so don't taken these old people review take from a young guy who know more and is open mind and not wish things where the way the way where take from some who thinks women should have voice and black people should be able to do what they want take from some one who don't hate people who being different this a very good buy

Stick to your budget-priced standard DVD version

Reviewer: Steven T. Siegert,
The people who worked with Koch on this release wasted their time with high hopes that they could make a profit off of deceptive advertising and false claims.

For starters, this film is public domain and companies like Koch can do anything they want with the film. The sad thing is, they did everything they wanted with this film and thought they made a quality product when in fact, they just destroyed an animated classic.

The most common criticism for this Blu-Ray that I support is the fact that the film's aspect ratio has been altered. This film was originally shot in a 1.37:1 aspect ratio. What Koch did was stretch the picture to a 1.77:1 aspect ratio so that it fits perfectly on an HDTV screen. As a result, Gulliver and all the other characters in the film look fatter than they are supposed to be. Aside from altering the picture, the soundtrack has also been altered. Sound effects that weren't originally there have been added to the soundtrack so that it could be "enhanced". Lastly, the two Gabby shorts in the bonus features section are not outtakes from the movie. A series of Gabby theatrical shorts was made to build on the success of Gulliver's Travels.

I would advise people who want a good looking version of this film without any alterations to stay away from this release and anything released by these people. These people have previously worked with Winstar to release a series of "Cartoon Crazys" DVDs and later on worked with GoodTimes. As always, these people do nothing but butcher classic cartoons that have fallen into the public domain.
should be labeled crapterion collection

Great example of how-to do a poorly digitized hi-def release. Don't waste money on this "blu-ray" and buy the standard definition version for the kidlets, otherwise watching this may make them cry and or throw things violently at your HDTV. buyer beware...
Ruined the aspect ratio, fake "5-star" reviews

The aspect ratio of the original movie was butchered - cropped and "stretch-o-vision'd" to pretend it is a widescreen film. Save your money.
Poorly Remastered

Reviewer: Andrew,
Video is cropped and stretched. It also judders (is that the right word?). The frames appear washed out too. The movie is alright, but the quality of the remastering leaves something to be desired.

I don't know much about all these complex topics in the other reviews, but I know I've seen much better restored classic films.
