Supreme
When a music file is compressed, some frequencies signals are lost, particularly if it is encoded using a low bit rate. The Supreme technology is a Kenwood-original audio compensation technology that compensates for this loss and reproduces music in a more natural form, thereby making it possible to play music recorded using low bit rates (64k to 96k) in an audio-quality equivalent to music recorded using a higher bit rate (equivalent to 128k). Enjoy a natural, rich sound, even with lower compression ratios.

needs a separate power button and display timeout

First off I really like this radio. It installed well and has no major issues. I have two major complaints - and I hope there is not user error on my part. First, there is NO power button, to get the radio to shut off you need to cycle through the sources button to select STANDBY - this is a MAJOR PITA!!! The other complaint is that if you want to adjust the sound using the bass, treble, mid or speaker settings, you push a button to select the attribute you want to adjust then make the adjustment - BUT the display will stay on that setting after you make the change rather than timeout and go back to the main clock / home screen. It's a pain since ALL radios allow you to adjust then forget about it and the radio defaults to the home screen so if you try to adjust the volume.

Kenwood KDC-MP142 WMA/MP3 CD Receiver with Front Panel AUX Input and Remote Control

I bought this for my husband as a gift. He had been looking at much more expensive stereos for his truck. Being budget minded as I am, I researched and found this one. It's great. We love all the features, especially that we can receive stations from quite far away. We live in a rural area and don't have much to choose from here. The only thing we don't like is, you can't see the clock unless the unit is ON. There is no feature to keep the clock on if you turn off the stereo. Otherwise, it's great!
Looks good, one question

Reviewer: Hemp>Else,
I bought this a while ago with a Jensen max power760 and I have yet to hook it up (need speakers) would I be able to hook up an amplified Subwoofer with the jensen powering all 4 speakers on this unit, or can it only run one amp? Thanks
does its job and sounds good doing it

Very satisfied with this system, a nice upgrade from my factory set up. My main purpose for buying the cd deck was to be able to output to a subwoofer. I love the feature that allows you to turn on or off the sound that you send to the sub essentially being a "kill switch" if you want to cut the sub entirely (although a bit frustrating to find in the users manual because it is not set up as a default option). All in all its a cd deck that outputs good sound (I still have factory speakers so I haven't noticed a ton of change but it does sound clearer) and allows for control of the subwoofer. I would recommend this cd player to anyone on a budget but still want a great sounding system.
Great Receiver

Reviewer: C. Hayes,
I purchased a refurbished receiver and installed it yesterday. Compared to the aftermarket JVC receiver it replaced, the sound difference is night and day. Installed it in a 2004 Acura RSX with a combination of factory (front) and aftermarket (rear) speakers along with a Bazooka powered sub. Before, the sub barely added bass and the factory speakers and after market speakers distored. Now with this receiver, the sound is incredible. No distortion, lots of bass, and overall great sound. Not to mention, the red back lighting of the buttons looks cool in a car with black interior and red back lighting on the interior lights. For the price, it can't be beat and I would recommend this unit to anyone!
